Fun Kids is the UK’s children’s radio station. We are passionate about helping children think, create and play and all our shows and podcasts put kids front and centre.
We need great communicators who know their Moana from their Matilda to help craft great content that engages our listeners.
Think you’re up to the job?
We treat our listeners with a lot of respect. They are aged between 6 and 12, and we always talk TO them (and never down to them). Their ideas are vital to us.
Fun Kids has been nominated for UK Radio Station of the Year for three years in a row at the ARIAS, gaining a podium finish this year – and our network of podcasts did the same in the Podcast Network of the Year category of the British Podcast Awards this year.
Our presenters have gone on to great things, with many of them getting jobs at stations like Radio 1 and Capital.
Right now, we are looking for someone who can cover shows on Fun Kids, so we are having a special “Presenter Day” where we’ll bring together a number of applicants and do a series of tasks and pieces of training to understand you better.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any professional experience, but we’re looking for people who are well practiced through student or community radio or through podcasts or YouTube/social.
Want to be a part of what we do? Here’s the three things you need to do – read these steps carefully.
1. Spend at least a week listening to the different shows on Fun Kids. You will need an idea of what we do. We take this step really seriously.
2. Create a three minute demo of some links you think would suit our station. We want you to bring some of yourself to this role.
3. Email a cover letter with your audio to our Content Controller, Lloydie. Put the word SHOW in the subject line and send it to lloydie@funkidslive.com
