Fun Kids is a multi-platform kids business with an award winning national radio station, a podcast network that delivers a million downloads per month and digital output that spans a successful website, social media and video. To help us continue to deliver for children and parents we’re looking for a new production superhero.
We now have a rare opportunity to join our team as a junior multi-platform producer. You will need to be a good audio editor, know your way around social media, have a decent level of video editing ability and be able to write copy that will engage primary school children and parents. We will be keen to see examples of these skills, whether for previous roles, in education, or used in other parts of your life.
But this job isn’t just about the technical skills, it’s about ideas too. We aim to create content that children and parents talk about with their friends.
Here’s who you’ll be taking over from:
Hey, I’m Paul. I’m a Multi-Platform Producer at Fun Kids. I just got an opportunity I couldn’t say no to so sadly, for me, I’m leaving this job, however, luckily for you, my job is up for grabs. Here’s why I think you’ll love it…
I’ve had the opportunity to arrange, produce and edit interviews/features with high-profile figures, from Prime Ministers to Chart-Toppers and Hollywood movie stars (Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, and Chris Evans to name a few – yep, actual Captain America).
Fun Kids is the UK’s only national radio station for children and their families, as well as the largest children’s podcast network in the UK – our content is such a huge part of children’s lives across the country, and you get to be a part of that.
It’s an incredibly creative working environment, where you’re free to pitch your own ideas and are supported in executing them. No suggestion is too silly, in fact they’re often not silly enough…
There are opportunities to work on longer form projects – like when we sent an actual radio programme to space and got a Guinness World Record for it!
We have a team of incredibly talented and experienced presenters and it’s great to work alongside them to collaborate on their shows.
On a personal note, you get to attend film screenings and see them before they’re out in the cinema which is cool – and along with that you get to create some really cool working relationships with PR executives and companies!
No week working at Fun Kids is the same.
So, check out our website funkidslive.com to see what we are up to, have a listen to the radio stations and podcasts, and if you think it’s the sort of place where you could make a difference, get in touch with:
- A short cover letter explaining why you think you would be great at this job
- An up-to-date CV
- Some audio or video content you have produced (no longer than five minutes)
- Something that caught your attention about the radio station’s on air output
Send this to our Content Controller, Lloydie – lloydie@funkidslive.com with the subject: Capes
As part of this job you will receive training and support to adapt your skills to our ways of working as well as having space to bring new ideas and help shape the development of all of our products.
This job is predominantly working from our office in Holborn, London.
Applications close on Thursday 9th March at 5pm.
